You may not understand very much of the charasmatic owner of Too Muchupon first meeting, with his heavy French accent, bad English, eccentric and explicit gesticulations, and nonstop comedic commentary, but the charm and humourous energy will soon create an addictive environment, before even sampling the tasty treats coming out of the gourmet kitchen. Arriving in South Africa in 2016, the owner has set up a bar lounge & tapas venue that resembles his iconic venue he owned in Geneva, Switzerland, before embarking on his gastronomic African Adventure.

It’s all about the CINQ SENS at TooMuch. FIVE SENSES. A bombardment more than a tickling of all your senses, starting with the music, which will be foreground rather than background music, playing a varied mix of deep South American Tribal beats, French, Scandanavian Techno, and an array of movements in between. Dramatic colourful lighting, and magical pizza oven design, smells coming from the kitchen, and the spectacular sea views from the breadth of the entire venue, will charge the sensory experience, all before sitting down to eat.
The music may be loud for some, and definitely too loud for others. The lighting may be too dramatic for some and definitely too unconventional for others. The mix of drinks at the bar, the chaos in the kitchen, the loud and ecclectic mix of music, and perhaps even the sometimes strange owner and his motley band of loudly laughing associates may prove Too Much for some folks. But that’s ok, TOOMUCH is not for everyone!
